Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Syntax Skills handles personal information across syntaxskills.com and related Syntax Skills services. We are a small builder organization, so this policy is intentionally plain and practical.
1. Scope
This policy applies to Syntax Skills websites and services, including the main Syntax Skills website, shared account pages, and project websites operated under the Syntax Skills brand.
Some projects may have additional product-specific behavior. If a project needs a separate policy, that project should link to it directly.
2. Information we collect
Account information: if you create or use an account, we may store information needed to identify and authenticate you, such as your email address, login provider, user id, and session records.
Information you provide: if you contact us, join a beta, submit feedback, or use a project feature, we may store the information you choose to send.
Usage and technical information: our infrastructure may process basic request data such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, timestamps, referrer, error logs, and security events.
Project data: individual Syntax Skills projects may store content needed for that product to work, such as room settings, configuration choices, saved preferences, or other app-specific data.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to operate the services, authenticate users, keep sessions working, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, debug errors, improve product quality, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for third-party advertising.
4. Authentication and service providers
If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google, that provider handles the authentication step and gives us the information needed to create or find your account.
We use service providers for hosting, domain, security, analytics or logs, authentication, email, storage, and similar operational needs. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us.
5. Cookies and local storage
We may use cookies or local storage to keep you signed in, remember language preferences, preserve session state, and protect the site from abuse.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but parts of the service may stop working correctly.
6. Sharing
We may share information with service providers, when required by law, to protect the security or integrity of the services, or as part of a merger, transfer, or reorganization of a project.
We do not publish private account information or private project data unless you make it public or ask us to share it.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to operate the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, or keep reasonable backups.
You can request account deletion or data deletion by emailing hello@syntaxskills.com. We may need to keep limited records where required for security, audit, legal, or backup reasons.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security.
If you believe you found a security issue, contact hello@syntaxskills.com.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information.
To make a request, email hello@syntaxskills.com. We may ask for information needed to verify the request.
10. Children
Syntax Skills services are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will review it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy when the services change. The updated date at the top shows when the current version took effect.
